The Ministry of Education, in partnership with the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), has validated a national skills gaps study to better align training with the skills and jobs Liberia needs.

The study identified major skills shortages in areas including agriculture, construction, ICT, manufacturing, and industrial services, helping to guide how technical and vocational training can better respond to workforce needs.

Speaking on behalf of the Ministry, Deputy Minister for Instruction Hon. Amos Armah Fully described the initiative as an important step toward strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and improving collaboration between government, the private sector, and partners.

The study will help inform how training programs are designed and strengthened so that more young people are equipped with practical skills that connect to real opportunities in Liberia’s economy.
