PMCS CONDUCTS VERIFICATION ASSESSMENT EXERCISE AT MINISTRY OF EDUCATION.

The Performance Management and Compliance System (PMCS) Team of the Office of the Cabinet, Ministry of State for Presidential Affairs, has conducted a day-long verification and assessment exercise with the Ministry of Education to strengthen accountability, transparency, performance monitoring, and effective implementation of government programs.

The exercise focused on verifying activities reported by the Ministry for the first and second quarters and assessing their alignment with the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID), particularly Pillar Six on education and human capital development.

Led by Atty. Nicole B. W. Harijgens, Senior Policy Coordinator and PMCS Lead assigned to the Ministry of Education, the team worked closely with Assistant Minister for Planning, Research and Development, Hon. Oscar G. Flomo, and relevant technical staff.

During the assessment, the Ministry presented progress in key areas, including the placement of more than 2,000 volunteer teachers on the Government payroll, with preparations underway to enroll an additional 1,000 volunteer teachers. Other achievements included the digitization of the school permit process, provision of instructional supplies, teacher upgrading initiatives, and school renovations.

At the conclusion, Atty. Harijgens commended the Ministry for its cooperation, responsiveness, and commitment to the verification process.

The Ministry remains commitment to evidence based reporting, continuous performance improvement, accountability, and the effective implementation of national education priorities as aligned with the ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
