INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD 2026
A girl can be capable, determined, and ready to learn, yet still have her education interrupted by circumstances beyond her control.
For some, it is the cost of schooling. For others, it is pregnancy, menstrual health challenges, disability, distance, safety concerns, or the difficulty of returning to a classroom after time away.
These are not reflections of a girl’s potential. They are reminders of the barriers we still have to remove.
The Ministry of Education continues to strengthen the pathways that help girls enter school, remain there, return when their education is interrupted, and complete their studies with the support they need.
Today, we celebrate Liberia’s girls, their ability, their ambition, and the futures they are working toward.
Happy International Day of the Girl Child.
