Stronger Families, Better Schools: Ministry of Education Strengthens Early Learning Practice in Bong County
April 21, 2026

As activities marking the Week of the Young Child (WOYC) draw to a close, the Ministry of Education, through its Bureau of Early Childhood Education, convened a targeted capacity-building session for school administrators and teachers in Bong County.
The training brought together educators from participating early childhood centers to strengthen practical competencies in family engagement, school leadership, and child-centered pedagogy. Sessions focused on how schools can more effectively work with families to support children’s learning, attendance, and overall development.
A central emphasis of the training was the role of strong school-home partnerships in improving early learning outcomes. Participants engaged in practical strategies for communicating with parents, supporting children’s transition into school, and creating inclusive, responsive classroom environments.
Speaking during the session, Assistant Minister for Early Childhood Education, Hon. Fasam Howard Nyensuah, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening early learning systems by equipping educators with the tools needed to support children both in school and within their home environments.
The session forms part of the Ministry’s broader efforts under WOYC to promote awareness, strengthen practice, and reinforce the importance of early childhood education as the foundation of lifelong learning.
