Today, the Ministry of Education convened the 2026 Local Scholarship Orientation and Contract Signing Ceremony for over 800 beneficiaries, marking an important step in strengthening equitable access to higher education across Liberia.

Under the theme “The Signature of Promise,” scholarship beneficiaries formally signed their contracts, committing not only to academic performance, but to integrity, discipline, and national service.

The Minister of Education reminded students that this moment is both opportunity and obligation. A signature represents responsibility to self, family, and country.

The 2026 Local Scholarship Program is grounded in merit, fairness, and inclusion, ensuring students from all counties have access to opportunity based on achievement.

The program also includes structured community service, reinforcing the link between education and national development.

This is how reform moves from policy to people.

We congratulate the new cohort and look forward to the impact they will make across Liberia.
