Minister Jallah Joins My Heart’s Appeal Skillful Hands Trade Fair, Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusive Education
Minister of Education Dr. Jarso Maley Jallah today joined My Heart’s Appeal (MHA) School for its Skillful Hands Trade Fair and Awareness Program 2026, where learners with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Down syndrome, showcased artwork, crafts, vocational products, and practical skills developed through the school’s training programs.
Touring the exhibits, the Minister commended Executive Director Lovetie Major and the MHA team for creating learning environments where students build skills, gain confidence, and demonstrate their abilities. She also recognized the families, educators, and caregivers whose dedication helped make these achievements possible.
Addressing the gathering, the Minister noted that the conversation is no longer about whether learners with intellectual and developmental disabilities can learn, develop skills, and contribute to society. The exhibitors had already answered that question through their work. The responsibility now rests with schools, training institutions, employers, and policymakers to ensure that talent is identified, developed, and given opportunities to grow.
In support of the students, the Minister pledged school bags for all enrolled learners and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening inclusive education and ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to develop their abilities and contribute to national development.
