Government Distributes STEM Laboratory Materials to 50 Schools Nationwide

The Ministry of Education has begun the nationwide distribution of STEM laboratory materials to 50 schools across Liberia’s 16 educational counties, reaffirming the Government of Liberia’s commitment to strengthening science education.

The initiative will benefit more than 25,000 students. The selected schools will serve as STEM demonstration centers, enabling neighboring schools without laboratory facilities to access practical, hands-on science learning.

The laboratory packages include safety equipment, laboratory glassware, test tubes, compound microscopes, prepared slides, dissection kits, anatomical models, science charts, laboratory chemicals, microbiology kits, and other essential science teaching and learning materials.

In addition, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics laboratories are being retrofitted and upgraded in all beneficiary schools to support effective practical instruction.

During the school vacation, STEM teachers from the participating schools will receive specialized training on the safe and effective use of the equipment.
