Liberia Advances TVET Transformation Through Youth Rising Phase II

Last week, the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with UNIDO, the European Union, the Government of Sweden, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, convened the Youth Rising Project Joint Project Steering Committee Meeting to review progress and implementation priorities under Phase II.

Chaired by Deputy Minister for Administration Hon. Nyekeh Y. Forkpa, the meeting focused on implementation progress, outstanding challenges, recommendations from the final project evaluation, the At-Risk Youth component, and land documentation required to support project activities.

A key update was the ongoing recruitment of 88 TVET instructors who will pursue advanced studies abroad, strengthening Liberia’s technical expertise and the quality of instruction available to young people.

The Youth Rising Project forms part of broader efforts to strengthen Liberia’s TVET system and expand pathways for young people to acquire practical skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and economic participation.

The Ministry appreciates the continued partnership of UNIDO, the European Union, the Government of Sweden, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and other stakeholders working to expand quality technical and vocational education opportunities for Liberian youth.
